At Chris Love Studios, the focus is on capturing records with depth, character, and emotion through a carefully selected blend of high-end analog equipment and modern workflow. Centered around an API The Box console, the studio is built to deliver the punch, warmth, and dimensionality associated with classic records while still moving fast enough for today’s artists. Outboard gear includes industry staples like vintage-style 1176 compressors, an LA-2A, Distressors, Tube-Tech and Neve preamps, along with a Bricasti M7 for rich, immersive reverbs that sit beautifully in a mix. Every piece was chosen for a specific tone and purpose rather than simply collecting gear, giving artists access to a wide palette of sounds and textures during tracking and mixing.
The studio also places a major emphasis on real guitar tones and organic performances. Vintage Marshall and Mesa/Boogie amplifiers are paired with trusted microphone combinations like the SM57 and Royer 121 to create guitar recordings that feel alive and powerful without relying on amp simulators. Whether producing modern rock, heavy music, or more dynamic singer-songwriter records, the approach is centered around commitment to tone at the source and building records with intention from the ground up.
